Cooktown is located north of the Daintree National Park and south of the aboriginal reserve of Hope Vale. The Endeavor River puts Cooktown in a unique position where it will be always surrounded by unspoiled nature.

Town history dates way back to James Cook and the early exploration days, through the gold rush period, to today where tourism and primary industry across Cape York are the main sources of income.

Cooktown Caravan Park is located in the foothills of Mt Cook within the main town boundaries of Cooktown. Hope Street is the main road into town from the south so keep a lookout to the right after you come into town.

We are only a few hundred metres to the centre of town.

We are a short walk or drive to the river and easily within reach of all attractions in town.
