We aim to keep an environment where any plant life and bushland is kept in place and landscaped so you don't feel like other campers are just outside your tent.  The tropical north offers a great opportunity to make you feel in paradise so any local flora and fauna are allowed to flourish.   

Bromelia; Not a local but very hardy with a striking appearance

Cooktown Orchid; A very beautiful flower that is also the emblem for Queensland as decided by popular vote in 1959.

Cycad; Descendant from about 240 million years ago this plant is considered closer to a pine tree than a palm.

Fungus; Not appealing by name but in cases like this one it can brighten up the area.

Friday night sausage sizzle

Proclaimed in 1912 by decree of the Prime Minister this is the Australia's Floral Emblem. Few other plants showcase our national colours better than this one.

As we needed a little lawnmowing done we were more than happy to host an interesting and unusual family.

On fridays during the peak season we run a BBQ meal for a cheap price and encourage all to gather around to swap stories and advice about your travels up the top end.
